More On Christine O'Donnell's Intellect

Christine O'Donnell, the Sarah Palin-endorsed darling of the Tea Party and GOP nominee for the United States Senate for the great state of Delaware, thinks evolution is a myth.

Her skepticism is based on this ultra-scientific question:
Then why aren’t monkeys still evolving into humans?
Maher points out:
This is somebody who could be in the Senate, who thinks that mice have human brains and doesn't understand that, oh my god, monkeys don't evolve in the time it would take to watch them.
Darling of the Tea Party, Sarah Palin-endorsed, GOP Candidate for the United States Senate. Shouldn't scientific ignorance of this magnitude disqualify someone from being taken seriously as a candidate for public office?

That's right, this is the GOP we're talking about here.

US Rep. Hank Johnson, D-GA, said back in April that he thought the island of Guam would "tip over" if the population was too large. Shouldn't scientific ignorance of this magnitude disqualify someone as candidate for elected office? Oops, he's already IN office.

On Rep Johnson.

CNN reported http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2010/04/01/congressman-clarifies-island-tipping-comment/?fbid=YUADj-tX3LK

After video of the exchange went viral on the Web, the two-term Democrat released a statement Thursday explaining that he was "obviously" joking.

"The subtle humor of this obviously metaphorical reference to a ship capsizing illustrated my concern about the impact of the planned military buildup on this small tropical island," Johnson said in the statement.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported last year that Johnson has battled Hepatitis C for more than a decade, an ailment that causes him to get "lost in thought in the middle of a discussion."

So unless O'Donnell backpedals and says she was joking or brings up some other mitigating circumstance, we're dealing with an apples/oranges thing here, aren't we?

On the other hand, Senator Inhofe has shown his scientific ignorance by denying global warming (which NOAA has called "undeniable").

I trust you have have the same standard for whose who believed population bomb.
Or those who said "We don't see any collapse or weakening of the Soviet system".
Al Gore's 'the interior of the earth is extremely hot, several million degrees'
Or is getting proved false by reality and not by scientific consensus an excuse?

Gore's has blurted out some mistakes of scale in the past, for which obviously your kind will never forget (let alone forgive him). But even still, are you saying you support O'Donnell? You agree with her scientific assessment of evolution? She can say anything she wants and you'll give her a pass because she's a conservative?

Nah, you won't answer direct questions, you will find some other distraction and non-sequitur.

Same for you, cwv, anyone who passes the ideological purity test can say whatever they want. And nothing said by a infidel (by Tea Party standards) matters, its all heresy.
